Royal Parks Half Postponed
23 June 2020
Due to the situation regarding the current Covid-19 pandemic and the associated, ongoing restrictions, we can confirm that the 2020 Royal Parks Half Marathon, presented by Royal Bank of Canada, will not be going ahead as planned on Sunday 11 October 2020.
We have explored a number of possibilities, including what a socially distanced event would entail. Based on the complexities surrounding social distancing at mass participation events, in addition to the potential impact on the NHS, we do not feel it would be appropriate to proceed with the event at this time. It is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we understand that this will be very disappointing, albeit not unexpected news.
However, we are excited to announce that a rescheduled date of Sunday 11 April 2021 is confirmed, subject to final permissions.
All registered runners should have received an email containing details on what this means for their race place. If you have not received an email, please contact email@example.com and the team will be happy to help you.
We want to thank our amazing community for their continued support of the Royal Parks Half. From our ballot runners, who may have waited years to get a place, to our teams competing in the Royal Bank of Canada Corporate 13.1, to our international runners, who we are excited to welcome to London and of course our incredible charity runners, who have raised nearly £50 million for UK charities since the race’s inception. We’re excited to still be able to give everyone the chance to run.
We also want to thank our partners and stakeholders who we are working closely with regarding the rescheduled date. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in partnership with so many wonderful charities, runners, sponsors and supporters over the years and we look forward to continuing that work in 2021.
